The Echo of National Confession

A National Confession

"Whereas, it is the duty of nations as well as of men to own their dependance upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions in humble sorrow yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon, and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the holy scriptures and proven by all history; that those nations are blessed whose God is the Lord..."

" We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven, We have been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth and power as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious Hand which preserved us in peace , and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us, and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all of these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. "

" Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us!"

" It behooves us then to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our National Sins and to pray for clemency and forgiveness." ...... Abraham Lincoln, 1863, in declaring a national day of fasting, prayer and humiliation.

Oh how my heart longs to hear these words of the past spoken on every tongue through out our land. These words of truth still ring true and are louder today than ever before and will ring in the ears of all as the winds of change and judgement blow from sea to sea.

Even now a foreign flag waves over the Great House but none can see, nor will see, until their end is at hand.

As it was written ... Behold I will bring a nation against you from afar, says the Lord. It is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language you do not know, nor can you understand what they say.

Does this remind you of anyone?

As it was true for the house of Israel in the time before the carrying away to Babylon, so shall it be for this nation unless we will turn our hearts back to God.

Regardless of the guidance of our current National Leaders, we ALL must own up to our duty of dependance upon the overruling power of God

Let us take charge of our own hearts and declare to each other the need for a "DAILY" National Day of Prayer, Fasting, Humiliation and Confession before our Creator, with fear and trembling, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon.

.....and above all else LoveEachOther and trust in Jesus.
