Torah Portion June 28 2014 "Parsha Chukkas" - Decree

The Jewish Torah Portion this week, " Parsha Chukka" Meaning - Decree, seems to have incredible timing.
As last week we were informed that the Red Heifer had been found and was being sent to Israel to be prepared for the upcoming temple, and now the very next week sends us into Numbers chapter 19 where we see the decrees of the Lord regarding the preparing of the Red Heifer. Simply Incredible! And might I add that there is not a translation for the word coincidence in the Hebrew language.

We also see the importance of following Gods statutes, even in a simple command, and the consequence's of not following them. As in the example of Moses when God said that he should speak to the rock and instead hitting it kept Moses from entering into the promise land.
Again when Aaron was sent to the top of the mountain to end his priestly duties, stripped of his garments and died.

Again we come to another incident at Hormah when the people of Israel grew impatient against God and grumbled against Him and Moses, so God sent fiery serpents into there midst and killed many of them. Then God showed mercy unto them healing many after Moses created a brazen serpent on top of a pole telling the people to look upon it for their healing and afterword  destroying the thing so the people would not worship it as a god.

Finally we end up at the end of the portion with Israel pitching camp at the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan just outside of Jericho.

Oh Yeah you know this is about to get really good!

The moral to this story is to heed the word of the Lord, at any cost for He is sovereign.
Our God truly reins! Amen? Amen! ... and above all else LoveEachOther and trust in Jesus. :)
